Create exact duplicate of contents of one hard disk/volume to another Acronis began in 2003 as a maker of local-backup and disc-imaging software and quickly earned a good reputation. With large modern hard disks this can take tens of hours to complete, and when an error is encountered, you must start the process again from the beginning. In this situation, the software will copy the source hard disk block by block, making no distinction between free space and data. One problem with hard drive imaging arises when you use a large hard disk and a file system with which the cloning software is unfamiliar. It's also generally very fast - especially if the cloning software you choose has intimate knowledge of the file systems used on the model system, such that it can distinguish between data and free space. You can clone one system to any number of systems simultaneously over a local network connection. This method requires special software to clone the contents of the entire hard disk or disks to any number of target systems. The Surface Book 2 is undoubtedly a pricey device, especially considering that the price doesn’t even include the $99 (£99, AU$139) Surface Pen. Sadly, you will have to sacrifice storage space to get this low price – you’ll be limited to 128GB of storage accompanying the dual-core i5 CPU and 8GB of RAM. On the other hand, the 13.5-inch Surface Book 2 starts at the fairly more modest price of $1,149 (£1,149, AU$1,599) in the US, with other countries likely to follow this pricing model. The only difference between the two is that the starting Surface Book 2 configuration comes with a 256GB SSD. Of course, this is the highest end that the Surface Book 2 gets, with the entry-level 15-inch model coming in at a still hefty $2,499 (£2,349, AU$3,649). The configuration we reviewed here, listed to the right, comes in at a lofty $3,299 in the US. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the Surface Book 2 is very expensive.
